I run a server on Ubuntu Server 14.04. I want to create a user that is able to connect via sftp, download 1 file and terminate the connection. The user should not be able to do ANYTHING else. Allow Or Deny SSH Access To A Particular User Or Group In Linux. OpenSSH default configuration file has two directives for both allowing and denying SSH access to a particular user(s) or a group. Securing the SSH server
So it kills me that the SSH server on the unraid system is so wide open. I get that initially this is an ease of use type thing and if you properly keep it behind a firewall, you have little to really worry about.
That being said, I'd love to see a document on getting SSH secure. Prohibiting root SSH access and supporting the use of SSH keys would be great. Using SSH keys exclusively (no username / password access) would be better.
Why is it they haven't documented this or or better yet, included these settings in the GUI?
